Otto G. Rutherford was the president of the Oregon NAACP and his wife, Verdell Burdine Rutherford, was the secretary.
They worked tirelessly to gain fairness for African-Americans in all areas.
Their home was the NAACP’s office, and in 1955, it became the office for the NAACP Federal Credit Union, which they helped to found.
